The primary agenda for the first meeting includes committee assignments, paint out planning, brainstorming, and other orders of business. Please, bring your ideas and your enthusiasm. This is going to be a great year for Arizona Plein Air Painters!
Arizona Plein Air Painters Members ONLY are invited to participate in the inaugural:
PLEIN AIR AT THE FAIR
A ONE-DAY JUDGED CONTEST HELD ON-SITE DURING THE ARIZONA STATE FAIR!
Bring your art supplies and artistic talent to paint on
location within the fairgrounds during the Arizona State Fair.
En plein air is a French expression meaning “in the open air,” and refers
to the act of painting outdoors with the artist’s subject in full view. Plein
air artists capture the spirit and essence of a landscape or subject by
incorporating natural light, color and movement into their works
There are many places in and around Sedona suitable for painting, from Schnebly Hill to Red Rock Crossing. We will choose one or more when we are closer to the date and have a firmer idea of headcount, as some locations are more generously proportioned. We may choose to paint in more than one location. Red rock vistas, pines, and sometimes streams/water are all possible views.
