Arizona Plein Air Painters, Inc., (APAP), is a state-wide fellowship of artists who are dedicated to practicing and promoting the tradition of plein air painting. We work to artistically document and cherish the incomparable Arizona landscape while providing opportunities for member and non-member artists to experience the joy of plein air painting and each other's company.

Members seek excellence in the pursuit of interpreting the diversity of Arizona’s landscapes, history, and cultures. Members strive to mentor emerging artists and share their expertise with fellow artists in order to maintain the highest standards of artistic endeavor and creativity.

APAP sponsors statewide paint-outs and shows that provide opportunities for new artists and professionals to embrace painting from life. Annual statewide shows and other events serve to showcase the beauty of Arizona, the excellence of members' artwork, and the importance of art to the quality of life.

Let me earnestly recommend…one studio which you may freely enter and receive in liberal measure the most sure and safe instruction…the Studio of Nature.
