Woods Canyon Lake Paint Out and Camping at Spillway

  • Spillway Camground (map)

LET’S PAINT AT WOODS CANYON LAKE!

Everybody is welcome to attend. APAP Members, non-members, & plus ones. Explore the most beautiful lake on the Mogollon Rim surrounded by a dense forest of pine, fir, oak and aspen. The Mogollon Rim, pronounced "muggy-own," is a 200-mile long cliff in northern Arizona and serves as the geographical dividing line between the cool high country above and the hot, dry desert below.

THE PAINT OUT

The paint out is free and not limited to a number of artists. We are not planning specific times to meet for painting, instead artists will be painting throughout each day. Most painters will gather on the south shore between the Rocky Point Picnic Site and the damn. There is plenty of parking at the Woods Canyon Lake Store and Marina.

Non-campers are encouraged to stop by the group site and visit with campers.

THE CAMP OUT (REGISTRATION IS FULL)

Currently, there are no more spots for campers at our group site. You are still welcome to show up and paint.

Campers are responsible for their own transportation, gear, food, water, & fuel. In case of fire restrictions, pack a gas or propane stove. For both Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, we will gather for suppertime to socialize.

Besides painting, there are lots of things to do at Woods Canyon Lake. You can hike around the lake. You can rent a boat. Personally owned boats are allowed, you can launch from the shore for free. Fishing.
