Take Cave Creek Rd. to Spur Cross Road turn north and follow (it curves around right onto Grapevine Rd then go left back onto Spur Cross Rd.) Stay on the road, about 5 miles, until you see a small parking area on the left across from the horse rescue.
If the parking area is full, drive on a short distance and park in the area for Spur Cross Conservation area where there is a $3/person fee cash only, or a Maricopa regional park pass. Restroom are located there.
NOTE: The Hidden in the Hills Artist Studio Tour in Cave Creek and Carefree is happening this same weekend. After painting, we encourage you to explore the event, where several APAP members will be showing their work. For more details, visit the HITH website for details.
