The Hassayampa Nature Preserve is 77 beautiful, shady acres on the river, so it is a nice opportunity to paint water, trees, and reflections. Lots of cottonwoods and very old palms with beards to the ground. Trails are wide and easy. There is a gift shop and restrooms. $5.00 entrance fee.
