We are painting again at the lovely Alcantara Vineyard And Winery. The 87 acre property has extensive river front access, open air Chapel (covered) with lovely views, rose gardens, vines in full leaf. The Winery buildings and outdoor dining areas offer architectural features. There is a hilltop vantage point, with 360 views (if the winds are not too high). The horse stable is next door, more info TBD. The restaurant at the tasting room offers some wonderful food with the menu available online.
Though the winery is not officially open till 11AM, the gates will be opened for us at 8AM by the owner, and parking will be available at the "overflow" parking area by the water and kayak launch.

Camping is available next door at the Thousand Trails Verde Valley Camp and RV resort that has cabins, campground and RV parking (it is very busy) https://thousandtrails.com/.../verde-valley-rv-camping... . Cottonwood is about 20 minutes past the winery turnoff and has numerous lodging opportunities if you want to be able to get there early!
