2020 Glendale Plein Air Competition
Saturday, February 29, 2020
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. • Sahuaro Ranch Park
9802 N. 59th Avenue • Glendale, Arizona 85302

The event is open to artists (18 years of age & older) who paint using the Plein Air technique in oil,
watercolor, acrylic or pastel. Plein Air (open air) paintings are executed outdoors.

Paintings must be done within Glendale city limits. Canvas size not to exceed 18x24. All artists must bring their own materials and easels and register prior to any work being done. Registration will take place from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on event day at the park.

Between 3:00 to 3:30 p.m., artists will line up with their artworks on easels along the Promenade on Palmaire for judging to begin at 3:30 p.m. Award categories are purchase awards and the winning
paintings will be accessioned into the City of Glendale’s permanent art collection. The award categories are:

• Council Choice Award - $1,000 award
• Best of Show - $1,000 award
• Second Place - $500 award
• Third Place - $250 award
